NEXT WORKING BEE
Meet at the Drayton Drive entrance at 2pm on Saturday 28th May 2016
---We will continue with weed clearing and mulching under native seedlings
---We will start with a health and safety briefing and basic plant identification from a Council Officer
---Some Council equipment and gloves will be available but you may prefer to bring your own gloves, secateurs, loppers and pruning saws
---Wear sturdy shoes or boots, warm clothes, sunhat and safety glasses
---If weather is bad, the alternative date will be 4th June
---Cake and hot tea will be provided! Bring your water bottle.
EXTRA WORK DAY
Four of us put in a solid effort clearing and mulching on Saturday 14th . . Well done guys…every little bit helps, and there’s lots to do!
Charlie Dooley who some of you met last time and who has been helping us get established, is returning to UK for family reasons. We thank her for her great help and wish her well. We are yet to be allocated another officer.
Charlie is organising 4-500 plants for us to put in this winter, maybe starting next month.
Total area about 7ha. Total length about 1km. Widths 50m to 150m. Rises from near sea level to 180m altitude. There are three broad natural habitats within the Reserve: the western hillsides, the dryer eastern hillsides and the wider valley floor above the footbridge.
